Attendance / Absences

If a student is to be absent from school, the parents (not siblings) must contact the Academy by 8:45 a.m. and explain the reason for the absence. Parents may call the Absence/Late line at 306-569-1935 and leave a message with the student’s name, grade, and reason at any time, day or night. If the absence is foreseeable, notice should be given to the office and teachers in advance.

In the event of illness, the student must have a note signed by his parent to excuse him/her from Physical Education class or outside break time.
High school students must be in the classroom ready to learn by 8:40 a.m., and Elementary students by 8:50 a.m., or they are considered late for school that day. Please do your very best to ensure that your children arrive on time for school. Bad habits are learned early in life and are difficult to overcome once they are ingrained. It is also disruptive to the class and time-consuming for staff when students come late.

Regular and consistent attendance in class is very important.
