Transportation

Transporting students to and from school is the responsibility of the parents. If you are interested in carpooling, the school office could provide a list of parents to contact.

Drop-Off/Pick-up

Students in grades 8-12 are permitted to enter the front doors, so you may drop them off on 8th Avenue North or using the lane access – provided you do NOT block the entryway to the front staff parking lot.  We ask that you refrain from using parking stalls or pulling into the parking lot in the front, as it can get congested and we have had challenges with this in the past.  If you absolutely need to get close to the entrance (ie. child has an injury that makes walking difficult), please remember that all stalls marked RESERVED are NOT to be used.  Only the 4 visitor spaces would be permitted.
Any High School students who have their own car must park in an unassigned spot in the rear parking lot.  They must park behind the first two rows immediately behind the link, as those are reserved for visitors and staff as well. Students who drive their own vehicles to school, must have a record of the make/model of their vehicle, as well as the license plate number with the main school office.
Please drop off Grade K-7 students at the back of the building. Students go through the far gate across from the playground and then into the student entrance (northeast doors). All students grades K-7 enter and leave the school through those northeast doors. Grades K-7 students MUST be dropped off by going through the pylon marked DROP OFF LANE.  We ask that you DO NOT allow your child to walk across the parking lot or walk across the drop off lane.
Supervision of children is provided until 3:45 p.m. If students are not picked up by 3:45 p.m. they will be asked to come indoors to wait for their ride. Students in grade K-4 who are not picked up by that time will be taken to the After School Program and the cost ($8 per day per student) will be charged to students’ accounts. Students in grades 5-12 who are not picked up by 3:45 p.m. may wait in the Multipurpose Room for their ride. Students are NOT permitted to wait or congregate in the Foyer.

If you ask someone other than another HCCA parent to pick up your children, please inform them of these guidelines.

Upon pick-up, we would also ask that you use extreme caution when driving in the back North parking lot as kids are walking to their vehicles.  Especially for younger children, it is ideal that parents could escort their child to the vehicle.  For older students, it would also be good to remind them to have at lease one earphone out to allow them to hear any approaching vehicles.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
